TYPICAL ITINERARY
Melbourne, Australia
Originally part of New South Wales, Victoria became a colony in its own right in 1851. The discovery of gold and the development of agriculture propelled Melbourne’s rise to prominence and prosperity. Flower gardens and graceful, tree-lined boulevards add a refined air to Melbourne, regarded as the hub of Australia’s cultural, intellectual and financial life – at least by Melbournians! Modern skyscrapers mingle comfortably with Victorian homes, and an aura of upper-class elegance pervades. If you find country pleasures more appealing, ride the historic steam train “Puffing Billy” past forests and farms, before having lunch at a Yarra Glen vineyard.
Adelaide, Australia
Adelaide offers an abundance of colour, surrounded by the Mt. Lofty Ranges and the waters of the Gulf St. Vincent. Named after the wife of King William IV, this seaside port is a bustling city with historic charm. Tour the South Australian Museum with its exceptional collection of glassy-eyed critters and Aboriginal artefacts. Or head to Glenelg’s white sand beaches and old-style amusement park.
Fremantle (Perth), Australia
Perth’s explosive growth in recent decades has engulfed the old historic port of Fremantle. Eighty-percent of Western Australia’s population lives in and around Perth. This bustling port, known as “Freo” to the locals, sits on the Indian Ocean and offers a romantic, artsy ambiance to residents and visitors alike. You could fill your day sitting in outdoor cafés or strolling through lively markets. Or head into the vibrant city of Perth for an outing to the Botanic Gardens or visit some of the best museums in Australia.
Mauritius
Mauritius is an island nation in the south-west Indian Ocean off Africa, about 900 kilometres east of Madagascar. It is famous as the only known home of the extinct giant bird, the Dodo. This serene oasis has experienced a recent boom in tourism, and areas such as Grand Bay, in the north, now teem with shops, eateries, bars and nightclubs.
Durban, South Africa
Durban is South Africa's third-biggest city and reflects a mix of cultures, including a large Indian community and a new influx of Africans from countries to the north. Indians were brought out to KwaZuli-Natal in the 1860's as indentured slaves to what was then the Colony of Natal. They have stayed and with them they brought their culinary delights and a variety of spices can be found in this city. In Durban's Victoria Market there are many hawkers selling fine spices.
Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Port Elizabeth is located on the Indian Ocean about halfway between Cape Town and Durban. The city is beautifully set along the beautiful shores of Algoa Bay, making Port Elizabeth a Mecca for all beach and water sport activities. Across the bay is the wonderful Addo Elephant National Park. In and around the city there are scenic nature trails and wildlife experiences, long golden beaches, historic heritage and a warm sunny climate.
Cape Town, South Africa
The “Mother City” has welcomed sailors since Portuguese navigators first rounded the Cape of Good Hope in the 15th century. Not only is it one of the most beautiful cities in the world – tucked into the arms of a broad bay, beneath Table Mountain – but it is also surrounded by magnificent beaches, rugged mountains and bucolic vineyards. On a fine day you can ride the cable car to the summit of flat-topped Table Mountain, surrounded by views of picturesque Cape Town with the Cape of Good Hope in the distance.
Walvis Bay, Namibia
The 'Diamond of Africa' is a country of stark beauty and contrasting landscapes. It is home to the world’s oldest desert, the world’s highest sand dunes, and a diversity of people that have created an intriguing blend of cultures and traditions. Tales of shipwrecks echo along the Skeleton Coast where you can visit the old world resort of Swakopmund and glimpse Spitzkoppe, a volcanic mountain known as Namibia’s Matterhorn.
Gran Canaria
The tranquil harbour, verdant palm groves and excellent climate of Gran Canaria’s lively capital Las Palmas delighted Christopher Columbus when he discovered it on his famous voyage of 1492. Those same attractions now draw modern travellers keen to explore the atmospheric cobbled streets and leafy courtyards of its old quarter, Vegueta. You can also enjoy nearby Playa del Ingles, the liveliest and best-known beach in the Canaries. Just beyond Las Palmas you can explore the stunning desert scenery of Maspalomas, or tour further afield to explore peaceful old towns like Arucas – famed for its lush banana plantations - and Teror, with its fine collection of traditional houses with intricately carved wooden balconies. Other must-sees include lovely Palmitos Nature Park - set in a canyon inland from Maspalomas and famous for its vivid tropical plants, birds and fish - and Bandama, an extinct volcano set 1,900 feet above sea level, which offers panoramic views over the island.
Madeira, Portugal
When you travel around Madeira it quickly becomes clear why it is known as the Garden Island - it is simply awash with colour from a breathtaking display of sub-tropical plants and flowers. So it is hardly surprising that large and colourful flower markets are one of the most arresting features of Funchal, Madeiras capital. The size of a market town, Funchal is easily walkable although, the further inland you explore, the steeper and narrower some of the streets become. Locally made wicker furniture, lacework and tapestries all make good buys along with the ubiquitous Madeira wine. Funchal is also the base for tours to the islands botanical gardens; the fishing village of Camara de Lobos where Churchill went to paint; Camacha, the wicker centre; the levada walks, part of an ancient irrigation system; and to Reids Hotel for traditional afternoon tea.
Vigo, Spain
Spains busiest fishing port, Vigo sits on the rugged west coast of the province of Galicia. Over the centuries, this charming town and its resilient residents have been the target for many naval attacks including a couple from Sir Francis Drake. In these more peaceful days, you will still find the best view of Vigo is from the fort (Castillo del Castro) built to defend it from the hill overlooking the harbour. Then walk through the steep, narrow streets of the atmospheric old town (Barrio del Berbes) to see (and smell...) the daily fish market. Try one of the oysters which are fresh from beds in Vigos ‘ria’ - one of the sunken sea-filled valleys for which Galicias coastline is renowned. And a Vigo cruise call is also a chance to visit nearby Santiago de Compostela, the subject of pilgrimages since the Middle Ages.
Southampton, England
Southampton is a city and major port situated on the south coast of England. It is the closest city to the New Forest, situated approximately halfway between Portsmouth and Bournemouth. The city of Southampton is a modern and bustling place to visit, filled with huge shopping malls, modern buildings and an interesting past.

OTHER INFORMATION
Welcome to Queen Mary 2 - the grandest, most magnificent ocean liner ever built. She's a true heir to the timeless elegance, legacy and inspiration of the great Cunard liners of legend. You'll notice it the moment you walk through her doors into her soaring Grand Lobby, and be awed from the first instance you experience the famous Cunard White Star ServiceSM. Yet this sophisticated monarch also boasts the most modern luxuries and amenities - from the pampering services of the only Canyon Ranch SpaClub® on the seas to the fascinating Oxford DiscoverySM enrichment programme led by professors from the University of Oxford and other prestigious experts. This regal royal must truly be seen to be believed - come live the adventure.ABOUT Cunard
If travel is meant to be savoured, then crossing the oceans should be a majestic experience, not merely a hop across the pond, as some would have it. For travellers of this persuasion, only one name evokes the pleasures of a golden era. That name is Cunard Line. The grand tradition of the classic ocean voyage is very much alive aboard the luxury liners of Cunard. And where once legends strolled the promenade, today so can you, proving that true luxury belongs to no particular era. For 160 years, Cunard has worked to make the art of cruising indistinguishable from the art of living well. Aboard the five-star vessels, and in unique adventures ashore, music and painting is blended with cuisine and conversation, invigorating walks with reading and relaxation, explorations of historic landmarks with the spectacle and purity of nature. This is the Cunard legacy: timeless elegance, incomparable service, intriguing destinations and, quite simply, a more cultured experience. To travel on one of the Cunard ships today is to experience a part of that heritage and return to an era of unabashed opulence from the golden age of ocean travel. Imagine it. Across the oceans, in the lap of luxury to fabled cities and idyllic islands on a voyage bound only for pleasure. Cunard, the tradition continues.

FUEL SUPPLEMENT
Cunard may elect to impose a fuel supplement at any time, in which case the supplement will apply to new bookings only. The total price quoted to you at the time of booking will be inclusive of any applicable fuel supplement.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance. We also urge you to purchase medical and emergency evacuation covers.
Baggage and Valuables
Though we take reasonable care in the handling of baggage, Cunard’s responsibility for lost, damaged or misplaced baggage and other personal property is limited by the Passage Contract. Cunard Line is not responsible for camera equipment, laptops, cash or other similarly fragile and valuable items contained in checked or unchecked baggage. These items, as well as medications and prescriptions, should be carried on and off the ships by the guests themselves. Safe-deposit boxes or in-room safes are available free of charge on board. For your safety, all guests and all baggage must pass a security checkpoint.
Children Travelling with an Adult
Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and must be at least one year of age to sail on a World Cruise.
Alcohol policy
Alcohol (duty-free or otherwise) is available for purchase and will be delivered to your stateroom on the last day of your voyage. Alcohol purchased at any port of call including the port of embarkation may not be consumed on board. It will be collected at the gangway for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of your voyage, prior to disembarkation. You may bring one bottle per person of wine or champagne on board to celebrate special occasions. If consumed in the dining rooms or alternative restaurants, each bottle will be subject to a USD15 corkage fee.
Embarkation/Disembarkation
The ship generally will be available for embarkation two hours before the scheduled sailing time. Due to limited facilities, guests should not arrive earlier than the embarkation time noted on final documents. On disembarkation day, staterooms must be vacated at the time advised by the Hotel Manager. Once customs and immigration clearance has been completed, guests should allow three to four hours for transfer time to the airport.
Guests with disabilities/special diets
Guests with disabilities or requiring assistance are welcome aboard Cunard vessels. Due to the configuration of our ships, however, wheelchair users and individuals with sight impairments may experience some difficulties in accessing certain areas. Where such individuals would be unable to be safely and comfortably accommodated due to such barriers or other criteria, we may suggest that the guest be accompanied by a companion. Some ports of call require tenders to go ashore and may preclude passengers using a wheelchair from leaving the vessel; this decision must be made by the ship’s Captain and is binding. Upon notification by a guest with a disability, Cunard Reservations will provide stateroom and bathroom doorway widths and other pertinent access limitations on board the vessels. Cunard is pleased to permit individuals to bring service animals on board. In order to make appropriate arrangements, notice that a guest will be travelling with an animal must be provided at the time of booking. Local laws or customs may prevent animals from disembarking at particular ports and countries. It is the guest’s obligation to obtain all documents/health certificates that may be required. Consult local customs authorities for information and requirements. Guests with conditions requiring ongoing medical assistance may be asked to have their physician provide a confidential certification form to ensure that they may travel safely.
If guests have special dietary needs, Cunard mus be advised at time of booking or, at the latest, six weeks before sailing. Every effort will be made to comply with such requests.
Services Provided by independent Contractors
All shoreside tours and services, including transfers and shore events are provided by independent contractors. Cunard acts solely as the ticketing agent for all shoreside activities. Cunard shall have no obligation or liability of any kind to guests for acts or omissions in connection with or arising out of arrangements with independent contractors, including but not limited to airline carriers, ground/tour operators, hotels and on board physicians since they are neither agents for nor employees of Cunard.
International Travel Documents & Health Information
It is the guest’s obligation to obtain a valid passport, visas and public health documents for all applicable ports of call and overland tour destinations. Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months past the last day of your trip.
Depending on the area of the world visited, vaccination/immunisation requirements vary considerably, and are subject to change at any time. We suggest that guests travelling outside of their country of residence consider being immunised against Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Diphtheria, Polio and Tetanus. An international certificate, approved by the World Health Organisation, is the best medium for verification that inoculations and vaccinations have been satisfactorily performed, and is accepted by health officials at all ports of call. We strongly recommend that all guests contact their personal physician, the Department of Public Health or the Centres for Disease Control to obtain expert medical immunisation recommendations for their intended itinerary and travel plans and to specifically address Malaria and Yellow Fever requirements in time to receive any necessary vaccinations/immunisations. Any malari prophylaxis medication recommended must be obtained prior to joining the vessel.
