TYPICAL ITINERARY
Set sail from Barcelona on your 12- night Memorable Med cruise to:
Valencia, Spain
One of the largest cities of Spain, Valencia is also one of the country's most dynamic. Its location on the Mediterranean offers a mild climate, bringing sun worshippers to Valencia's many beaches. Sports aficionados will find activities galore, including golf, diving, cycling and tennis. When the sun goes down, the tempo speeds up as locals and visitors gather in cafes and nightclubs.
Given that Valencia was founded by the Romans and has been a witness to, if not directly involved in, the history of the centuries, the city also is a showcase of art and architecture. Old Town boasts a cathedral that is mainly of early gothic style, with Romanesque and baroque additions. In the cathedral's museum are works of Goya and the paintings of the Valencia School, representing art of the 15th to the 17th centuries. Spanning the river are three old bridges, one of which has 15th-century towers that were part of Valencia's fortified walls. Then there is Spain's national hero, El Cid, whose famous battle against the Moors was waged here in Valencia.
Mallorca/Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Palma de Mallorca, rich in monuments of many ages, was founded by the Romans more than 2,100 years ago. A magnificent rose-colored Gothic cathedral dominates the palm-fringed waterfront of its urban center. Mallorca, known as the "Island of Tranquility," is the largest and most developed of the Balearic group. Steep mountains, serene valleys and wide plains form its varied landscape. Don't miss seeing the island's quaint villages and the monastery where George Sand and Frederic Chopin spent a winter.
Sardinia/Cagliari, Italy
The capital of Sardinia, Cagliari is a modern port and industrial center. Referred to as the "City of the Sun," its origins date back to the Phoenician-Punic period. Since then, this resourceful community has flourished despite numerous invasions by outside forces. It was conquered by the Romans in the 3rd century BC and the Arabs during the 8th and 9th centuries AD. Between the 11th and 14th centuries, Cagliari became a Pisan stronghold during the wars with Genoa. Subsequently, it was the site of a submarine base during World War II and was heavily bombed by the Allies. Today visitors may explore the majestic remains of Roman ruins and the amphitheatre. Dominating the town's landscape, the Pisan towers, the Spanish castle and the Aragon fortress offer glimpses of Cagliari's diverse and colorful history.
Palermo/Sicily, Italy
Rocky, sun-browned Sicily has bred a race of funny and passionate people, and the Palermitani are as Sicilian as they come. Nestled in the palms and orange groves of the Conca d'Oro area,Palermo has a tropical atmosphere. Wander through the enchanting squares of the Quattro Canti, and admire the mixture of European and Arab influences in the Palazzo dei Normanni.
Santorini/Thíra, Greece
Of all the Cyclades Islands, Santorini is often considered the most dramatic. Once an active volcano, it was known as Stongyle, or the Round Island. In about 1500 BC, the volcano erupted with such force that the center of the island literally exploded, leaving the haunting submerged crater into which Crystal Serenity sails. The island's small villages were preserved in the ashes and recent excavations have uncovered a fascinating view of everyday life from 3,500 years ago.
Santorini's dark landscape offsets its simple, yet refined Cycladic buildings, which glimmer in the sunlight. The rich volcanic soil is ideal for grapes and the local vines produce a cherished crop known for its "special volcanic taste."
Thíra, or Fira Town, is laid out along the edge of a cliff that partially forms the rim of the now extinct caldera. A picturesque site, it exudes charm and an atmosphere of leisure that can be attributed to the easy-going Greek lifestyle.
Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos, a former 18th-century pirates' bastion, is now a sophisticated and cosmopolitan island resort. This quintessential Greek island offers a maze of winding streets, graceful windmills, inviting beaches, domed churches and whitewashed houses accented in blue. Dotting the waterfront are cafés, taverns and tempting shops. Guests may spend the day exploring the island independently. Feel free to investigate its fine boutiques and pleasant, labyrinthine streets. For helpful hints or suggestions on things to do while you are ashore, please contact the onboard Shore Excursions staff.
Kuşadasi, Turkey
A lovely seaside resort on Turkey's Aegean coast, Kusadasi [koo-SHAH-duh-see] is renowned for its inviting sparkling waters, broad sandy beaches and large marina. The shops in town are filled with designer clothing, carpets, jewelry and leather goods. South, along the Aegean coast, the ancient Greco-Roman cities of Priene, Miletus and Didyma furnish impressions of the sophisticated civilizations that once thrived here.
Kusadasi is perhaps best known as the gateway to the archaeological site of Ephesus, one of the world's greatest archaic finds. Excavations continue in the 4,000-year-old city and it is believed that more than half of it still remains buried in the hillside. Its marble streets are lined with architectural masterpieces. The city played a significant role in the life of the Apostle Paul, who wrote an epistle to its people.
Istanbul, Turkey
For poets, Istanbul, next to Venice and Rome is the loveliest city in Europe and one of the most splendid in Asia. It is the only city in the world spread over two continents, separated by the Bosphorus. Istanbul was founded by Greek scouts in 660 BC and later became capital of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. With its 3,000 years of history behind, it has always been the meeting point of East and West. It is a city filled with wonders of architecture and monuments to the faiths that inspired them. Formerly known as Byzantium, then Constantinople, its mosques, minarets and museums span two continents where the Bosphorus divides Asia from Europe. This strategic position has assured Istanbul's status as a crossroads for trade and cultural exchange during the centuries. Must-see attractions include the dazzling treasury in Topkapi Palace and exquisite buildings of timeless beauty such as the Blue Mosque and Basilica of St. Sophia. Even those who are not avid shoppers will be enticed by the colorful sights and sounds of the world's largest bazaar.

Pets and other animals, except for service animals as described in these terms and conditions, are not allowed on board the Ship. Crystal Cruises’ Onboard Guest Services should be notified at least 30 days prior to the cruise if a Guest intends on bringing a service animal on board the ship.
Hand and unlocked baggage, breakable items and valuables, including but not limited to jewelry, watches, money, precious stones and metals, securities, financial instruments and/or tickets, must be hand-carried by Guests on and off the Ship; are the full responsibility of the Guest at all times; and may not be included with checked baggage. All checked baggage must be locked. Crystal Cruises is not responsible for loss of or damage to such items.
7. Liability Limitations For Loss Of Or Damage To Property: The total value of the luggage, valuables and other personal belongings of a Guest aboard the Ship who does not purchase Crystal Cruises’ Cruise Protection Program, as set forth in paragraph 8, or who does not deposit valuables for safekeeping, as described in the Ticket, shall be deemed not to exceed the amount of U.S. $250 per Guest, and Crystal Cruises’ liability, if any, for loss of or damage to such belongings is limited to a maximum of U.S. $250 per Guest. If a Guest travels by air or other transportation, the terms and conditions of the airline or other transportation provider apply to the Guest’s carriage on those conveyances, and Crystal Cruises shall not have any liability for loss or damage to luggage, valuables and other personal belongings arising out of, or related to, such air or other travel.
Crystal Cruises provides safekeeping for valuables aboard Ship and encourages Guests to deposit any jewelry or other valuables brought aboard the Ship with the Reception Desk staff who will issue a receipt for such valuables. Crystal Cruises provides an in-room personal safe for your convenience. However, Crystal Cruises shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to money, jewelry, watches, precious stones and metals, securities, financial instruments, tickets and/or other valuables unless they have been delivered to the Reception Desk for safekeeping and a receipt issued. The value of articles delivered for safekeeping shall be deemed not to exceed U.S. $250 unless the Guest declares in writing the articles delivered are of a higher value.
All settlements will be made on the basis of actual cash value (replacement cost, less depreciation) to the extent of the $250 limit of liability of Crystal Cruises. Claims for damaged items will be settled on the basis of cost of repair. No amount shall be paid in settlement of any claim without proof of the actual cash value, or repair cost, as appropriate, arising from the loss or damage. Such proof must be sent to Crystal Cruises. Crystal Cruises’ liability must also be proven before any settlement will be paid.
Personal belongings lost while unattended in public lounges or other public areas, whether on board the Ship or elsewhere, are not reimbursable. Losses due to ordinary wear and tear, perils of the sea, and other acts-of-God are not reimbursable.

Motorized scooters must not exceed 22” in width. Crystal Cruises reserves the right to limit the number of scooters on board. In arranging transportation, Crystal acts as agent for the air carrier and not as principal. The liabilities and obligations of an airline to you and your rights as an airline passenger are governed exclusively by the terms and conditions of the airlines’ tickets and tariffs. Crystal Cruises does not own or operate the air carrier, ground transportation or hotels, and is not liable in any way for loss, damage, injury, illness or death arising in conjunction with the services provided by these independent contractors.
