TYPICAL ITINERARY

Begin your 9 -night Tunisia & Spain Cruise on Star Clipper from Valletta . Unpack once, relax and enjoy your holiday as you cruise to:

Pantelleria, Italy

Pantelleria,  the ancient Cossyra, is an Italian island in the Strait of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea. The island of Pantelleria is located above a drowned continental rift in the Strait of Sicily and has been the locus of intensive volcano-tectonic activity.

Hammermet, Tunisia

Hammermet is a town in Tunisia. Due to its beaches it is a popular destination for swimming and water sports. It was the first tourist destination in Tunisia. It is located in the south east of the northern peninsula of Cap Bon in the Governorate of Nabeul on the northern edge of the Gulf of Hammamet.

Tunis, Tunisia

Located on a protected bay off on the north east coast, Tunisia's lively capital reflects an intriguing fusion of two cultures. It's a city where 19th century French boulevards and cosmopolitan western-style shops and entertainments rub shoulders with Arab tradition - at its most exotic in the maze-like 13th century Medina of Moorish houses and souks that is amongst the best preserved of its kind in the Islamic world. The 8th century Great Mosque and several museums in town are worth a look including the Dar Ben Abdallah, housing a beautiful collection of costumes and the Bardo Museum, displaying a vibrant collection of Roman mosaics and tapestries. Also visit the Thermal Baths and the heights of Sidi Bu Said. The pretty village of Sidi Bou Said sits perched on a headland, wreathed in flowers. This typical Tunisian village is a picture of domes and balconies in dazzling blue and white, set against a sparkling sea.

Mahon (Menorca), Spain

When making your way up the long finger of MAHON harbour, you can see why Lord Nelson chose this spot as the base for the British Mediterranean fleet during the Napoleonic Wars. Imagine dozens of ships of the line, being fitted out for battle in this historic harbour. Reminders of those times can still be seen in the gracious Georgian buildings that climb the steep hills backing the Moll Ponent. MAHON'S heritage also includes the invention of mayonnaise and the first distillation of gin from juniper berries.

Cartagena, Spain

Spain's major commercial port and naval base, CARTAGENA lies on the coast of Murcia, its great indented bay guarded by rocky promontories, each topped by a fort. The city contains the remains of old walls, a castle constructed probably in Carthaginian times, and a church that was formerly a 13th-century cathedral. Attractive promenades extend along the harbour, while to the northeast is the famous beach and watersports resort area of the lagoon-like Mar Menor.

Motril (Granada), Spain

Located beneath the coastal hills of the sun-warmed shores of the Andalusian coast, midway between Malaga and Almeria, ancient Motril is a seaport and thriving beach resort that has drawn Phoenicians, Romans and Moors during its long history. You can visit several beautiful churches, Carchuna Fortress and the 16th century Casa de la Palma. This Andalusian city is gateway to Granada and the famed Alhambra, located inland at the foothills, 40 miles away, the former capital to the Caliphs and Almoravids.

Malaga, Spain

Situated on Spain's Costa del Sol, Malaga is the busy port city of Andalusia, the region's capital and a popular holiday destination. Enjoy the panorama from Gibralfaro castle, towering above the city and visit the Moorish Alcazaba fortress, reconstructed as a museum and garden, or a wine cellar to try the famous local dessert wines.

ROMANCE THE WIND ABOARD A TALL SHIP.

They are the stars of the sea. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are as fleet as the wind and as graceful as swans.

These are true clipper ships reflecting their proud heritage in every inch of their polished brass and gleaming brightwork. Step aboard these unique vessels and discover a new age of sail, where the traditions of the past are happily married to the comforts and amenities of the present day. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are modern cruise ships in every way, created for luxury-loving passengers who also love the traditions and romance of the legendary era of sailing ships. Star Clipper and Star Flyer are both 360 feet long and each carries just 170 guests in pampered comfort.

Life aboard is blissfully relaxed, much like traveling on a private yacht. You’ll never feel confined on Star Clipper or Star Flyer. Each ship offer spacious accommodations and expansive teak decks with ample space and not one, but two swimming pools. In fact, you’ll find that these ships offer more outdoor space per passenger than most conventional cruise ships.

The décor of Star Clipper and Star Flyer is reminiscent of the grand age of sail. Antique prints and paintings of famous sailing ships please the eye, while teak and gleaming mahogany rails are richly reminiscent of Star Clippers’ proud nautical heritage.

All Star Clippers ships feature open-seating dining in an elegantly appointed dining room, our convivial indoor-outdoor Tropical Bar and Piano Bar, and an Edwardian style library where a Belle Époque fireplace glows with a warmth that reflects the friendliness and enthusiasm of Star Clippers’ hospitable officers and crew.
